What we expect… (Essential Functions)

  • Prepare monthly forecasting (Red File) changes summary for review with controllers.
  • Conduct detailed forecast research at both the job and category level.
  • Research, validate, and analyze project contingency including month-to-month changes, and present findings to the controllers.
  • Prepare monthly percent complete run rate analysis and identify trends to review with controllers.
  • Regularly validate Microsoft BI dashboards against accounting records.
  • Participate in forecast (Red File) reviews as needed.
  • Work collaboratively with project teams and accounting department to ensure that accounting functions of accounts receivable, accounts payable and payroll are in accordance with company standards and resolve any discrepancies. 
  • Roll various files for monthly reporting including the market planning tool, FTE calculations, and market specific analyses.
  • Conduct monthly CMIC forecasting trainings and update SOP’s and presentations as needed. Serve as CMIC forecasting resource for project teams.
  • Assist in the subcontractor financial prequalification process where needed and serve as the primary backup to the prequalification analyst.
  • Assist with As-Sold validation and bid item import reviews.

 

Who we want… (Requirements)

Bachelor’s degree from four-year college or university in an accounting or finance and a minimum of three to five years of relevant experience.   If a finance degree, significant, college-level accounting coursework is a requirement in addition to relevant experience.  Construction specific accounting/job costing experience highly valued.

 

Experience with CMIC software and/or Procore a plus. Advanced Excel skills highly preferred.

 

The team member should be an energetic, self-motivated and enjoy a team environment, as well as a passion for collaboration and professional development.   The team member will need to be present in the Gray Construction Lexington office routinely with the potential for a hybrid schedule.

 

Other Skills & Abilities

Must possess advanced computer skills, including proficiency in word processing, spreadsheet, electronic mail and other typical Office applications.  Will require, in time, proficiency with software and systems specific to the accounting department.  Must also possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills.  Working outside of standard working hours may be required from time to time.
