We have an exciting opportunity for a dedicated, hard-working, and goal focused individual to work on a great team in a growing organization. As a Site Safety Engineer, you will coordinate project safety and accident prevention programs for industrial construction job sites.

CORE RESPONSIBILITIES (ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS)

  • Enforce the use of safety equipment/clothing as required by OSHA and company safety regulations.
  • Reinforce that team members on the project site are in compliance with the safety requirements of the company.
  • Ensure that appropriate safety records are maintained.
  • Ensure that work areas are maintained in a neat, safe and orderly fashion.
  • Investigate cause of an incident and complete reports as required.
  • Assist Site Manager in administrative counseling to team members and subcontractors who are in non-compliance with safety requirements.
  • Hold safety meetings/jobsite review as part of coordination meetings.
  • Responsible for conducting daily safety meetings.
  • Responsible for conducting orientation and jobsite specific training.
  • Responsible for the communication, implementation and enforcement of Gray’s safety program on site.
  • Other duties may be assigned.

 

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE

  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field OR 5+ years of related experience in lieu of a degree.
  • OSHA 30 Hour card.
  • Experience in an industrial construction environment is highly preferred.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of safety/environmental principles and techniques.
  • Basic computer skills and experience with Microsoft Office suite programs.
  • Ability to communicate well both verbally and in writing.
  • Should be an energetic, self-motivated individual who has a passion for collaboration and professional development.

This position requires travel as our projects are scattered throughout the United States and, in some cases outside of the U.S..  The selected candidate can live anywhere in the USA, but would be required to travel to the project site per Gray’s travel policy.

While performing the duties of this position, the team member is frequently required to stand, walk, sit, use hands and arms, reach, and talk or hear.  They are regularly required to climb or balance, stoop, kneel, or crouch.  Must frequently lift and/or move up to 25 lbs, and occasionally lift or move up to 100 lbs.  Specific vision abilities include accurate near and distant vision.

While performing the duties of this job, the team member is frequently exposed to wet and/or humid conditions, moving mechanical parts, and outside weather conditions.  The team member is occasionally exposed to high precarious places, fumes or airborne particles, extreme cold and/or heat, risk of electrical shock, explosives, and vibration.  The noise level is generally moderate to loud.   Overtime may be required.

 

Supervisory Responsibilities

Indirectly manages subcontractor safety personnel.
