Overview

Gray Construction is looking to add a Quality Technician to serve as onsite quality representative on a single project or multiple projects as needed.

What we expect (Essential Functions)

  • Serves as onsite quality representative on single project or multiple projects as needed.
  • Shall assist in reviewing and managing submittals at preconstruction coordination meetings. Will ensure approved submittals and review for discrepancies.
  • Verification of approved submittals prior to start of work. Ensuring installation is in compliance with onsite, verification of materials matching receipt of materials.
  • Monitor construction processes to identify potential quality issues and provide solutions promptly
  • Ensure project documentation (drawings, Specifications, and Submittals, etc.) are current for both Gray and Trade Partners.
  • Reporting of daily audits and testing.
  • Coordinate distribution for QMS auditing and jobsite reporting from the QMS.
  • Assist in Managing special inspections and understanding warranty and the relationship for owner turnover.
  • Reviewing of all 3rd party inspections and correction of non-conforming work.
  • Assisting quality site leads in establishing and verification of all Hold points and providing approval for when to release them to work.
  • Tracking construction deficiencies from identification through acceptable corrective Corrective action to be coordinated with the Site Quality Manager. Hold point and random inspections if needed.
  • In coordination with the Quality Site Manger establish To-do List/Punch list process and assist in management through completion.
  • In coordination with Quality Site Manger management of the observations through completion or incorporating them into the To-do List or Punch List.
  • Other duties may be assigned.

While performing the duties of this position, the team member is frequently required to stand, walk, sit, use hands and arms, reach, and talk or hear.  They are regularly required to climb or balance, stoop, kneel, or crouch.  Must frequently lift and/or move up to 50 lbs, and occasionally lift or move up to 100 lbs.  Specific vision abilities include accurate near and distant vision.

 

While performing the duties of this job, the team member is frequently exposed to wet and/or humid conditions, moving mechanical parts, and outside weather conditions.  The team member is occasionally exposed to high precarious places, fumes or airborne particles, extreme cold and/or heat, risk of electrical shock, explosives, and vibration.  The noise level is generally moderate to loud.   Overtime may be required.

 

Supervisory Responsibilities

Indirectly manages subcontractor Quality team and directs quality related tasks for quality coordinator on Field/Project Engineers/Field Assistants.

 

Who we want (Requirements)

  • Bachelor’s degree or technical/associate degree in a related field and/or 2-3 years of related experience.
  • Must possess basic computer skills including the ability to utilize word processing, spreadsheet and e-mail applications.
  • Government Certified Quality Technician Certification is preferred but not required.

This position requires travel as our projects are scattered throughout the United States and, in some cases outside of the U.S..  The selected candidate can live anywhere in the USA, but would be required to travel to the project site per Gray’s travel policy.
